iPhone 10 Not Just Unboxing, But Comparison, Things Others Won’t Tell You

Apple iPhone X has now finally gone on sale in India. The iPhone X was launched along with iPhone 8 and 8 Plus back in September. The latest iPhone packs a lot of premium features and comes with a premium pricing as well. Apple iPhone X in India is priced starting from Rs. 89,000 for the base variant while the 256GB version is priced at Rs. 1,02,000.

Apple‘s latest offering iPhone X offers an edge-to-edge OLED display with almost no bezels, following the latest trend. Apart from that, the notable features of the iPhone X include facial recognition, wireless charging and a glass back. It has two 12-megapixel cameras with OIS on the back.

With such top-notch features, the iPhone X can be compared to the likes of Google Pixel 2 XL and Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Here we do a quick comparison of the devices and also tell you some insights about the latest iPhone X, which others won’t tell you.

Display is the best thing on iPhone X

The iPhone X features a 5.8-inch OLED display with a 2,436 x 1,125 resolution with 458 PPI pixel density. Apple has first time used the Samsung’s OLED panel for an iPhone and it’s even better than the Samsung.

If we take the Galaxy Note 8’s display, which offers a 6.3-inches edge-to-edge OLED screen and unlike the iPhone X, features a curved glass display with minimum bezels. When we compare both the displays, definitely the iPhone X’s OLED panel makes look Note 8’s display faded.

Galaxy Note 8 vs iPhone X display

We were impressed with Apple’s OLED screen how it appeared even in daylight. The iPhone X adjusts white balance to match ambient lighting very well and offers more sharp and rich colors at all viewing angles in all light conditions. iPhone X is definitely the winner in terms of display.

Premium design with glass back panel which is messy and breakable

The iPhone X has an all glass and stainless-steel design along with full-screen display which makes it look premium. However, this premium look doesn’t come with durability. The glass panel on the back on iPhone X is breakable and Apple hasn’t used any protection for it. So, you should do this on your own and better use a tempered glass.

There is another drawback one could find in the iPhone X back panel is that it is very messy. Just hold the phone for a few minutes and you will see a lot of fingerprint marks on its back which looks messy. Also, the phone is not so comfortable while holding because of the glass panel. Moreover, the iPhone X also has a heating issue because of glass back panel.

Camera has a good improvement

The iPhone X has a pair of 12MP lenses on the back, one with a f/1.8 aperture, the other with a f/2.4 aperture. Samsung also followed the dual camera trend with the Note 8 and the device comes with dual 12MP lenses with a wide-angle camera with f/1.7 and a telephoto lens with a f/2.4 aperture. If we talk about the Pixel 2 XL, the device has only one 12.2 MP lens, but Google doesn’t think that matters.

In our testing of the three premium phone’s cameras, we found that the Pixel 2 XL’s photos were excellent. Apple iPhone X has the second-best camera while the Galaxy Note 8 was found to be on the slightly lower side as compared to these two.

Front camera is good but not the best

Pixel 2 XL vs iPhone X selfies

If we talk about the front camera, a similar situation we found there too. The front camera on the iPhone X with a 7-MP sensor is quite powerful and also capable of pulling off portrait mode shots. However, again, Pixel 2 XL offers more natural pictures with its portrait mode shots. As you can see in the above imaPixelixle 2XL’s selfie is offering more natural colors in the selfie, while iPhone X one seems a little overexposed. The Note 8 again offers only average selfies.

Offers good battery life

You will probably get a good battery life from the iPhone X. Apple, however, doesn’t specify the battery size, and it may be around 1900mAh. If we compare the battery to earlier iPhones, it is found to offer more battery life, which is similar to what Apple has claimed.

One thing here to be noted about the iPhone X battery is that you will not find how much battery is left. It means when you see the battery icon turning red, you will need to charge it. It supports wireless charging as mentioned earlier. However, Apple has provided the same lighting cable and adapter with the box.

In terms of battery, if we talk about other devices, Galaxy Note 8 which was under the radar after the Note 7 battery issue, this time comes with a slightly lower 3,200mAh battery which can offer good battery backup. Pixel 2 comes with the biggest battery among the three, with a 3,520mAh battery.

iPhone X Price

As for the price, the iPhone X is the most expensive smartphone in the country. The 64GB version of iPhone X is priced at Rs. 89,000 and the 256GB version iPhone X goes up to Rs. 1,02,000. In terms of pricing, the closest rival of iPhone X is the Pixel 2 XL, which is priced in India at Rs. 73,000 for the base variant and 128GB version goes up to Rs. 82,000. On the other hand, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 is priced at Rs. 67,900 only.

Conclusion

Overall, in terms of design, display, and camera, the iPhone X is the winner when it is compared to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. While the design and display of the iPhone X are better when compared to the Google Pixel 2 XL, the latter’s camera is the clear winner. At the end of the day, it all comes down to the pricing. If you are a hardcore Apple fan, you can go for the iPhone X, as it is for sure the best iPhone so far.
